I am a New York State licensed psychologist and have been helping people to improve their quality of life for over 25 years. Extreme thinking, painful life circumstances, or a history of trauma are some of the possible sources of increased anxiety and depression. Therapy can often be helpful in learning more effective ways of managing life's problems and reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT skills focus on teaching coping strategies to both accept our current reality, and problem-solve what we want to change. Individual DBT utilizes these skills and others to help you work toward the goals that are meaningful to you.
*During this period of social-distancing necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, I am utilizing secure, HIPAA-compliant video consultation and treatment.
I have extensive experience helping individuals and couples, adolescents and children with a variety of issues including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Parenting and family stress
- Academic and learning issues
- Autistic Spectrum Disorders
- Marital conflict
- Eating disorders
- Interpersonal difficulties
- Divorce
- Transitioning to college and young adulthood
